AA CORPORATION CONTINUES CONTRIBUTING TO CONSERVE THE TONKIN SUB-NOSED MONKEY IN VIETNAM

The critically endangered Tonkin sub-nosed money has been at the center of Fauna & Flora International’s primate conservation activities for over a decade. The monkey populations are found in Khau Ca forest, Ha Giang Province as well as Tung Vai watershed protection forest in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province on the border with China. Since 2009, FFI has developed a species conservation action plan to these site and continues to raise awareness about this endemic primate. They have since built a few conservation field station, support community based patrol groups and was able to increase the population of the Tonkin sub-nosed mokey by at least 75% to around 150 individuals, which is a big success. Meanwhile, the species is still listed as one of the 25 Most Endangered Primates in the World by the IUCN Primate Specialist Group, meaning we still need to try our best to protect them and their environment. AA Corporation continues to support FFI to protect and preserve the fragile ecosystem of Vietnam from the verge of extinction by contributing to FFI’s program for the year 2018-2019.
