AA CORPORATION BROKE GROUND FOR A NEW SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN IN VI XUYEN DISTRICT, HA GIANG PROVINCE

On February 19, 2020, AA Corporation broke ground for a VND 2 billion kindergarten that will provide children in Lung Vai Village, Ha Giang Province with an environmentally friendly, safe and well-equipped learning facility. This poverty-stricken village near the border between Vietnam and China is home to 55 households. They are Mong and Dao ethnic minority people.

Located on a 600sqm site on top of a mountain, the school will have three classrooms, a teacher’s room, a kitchen, a toilet and a playground. The construction is expected to be finished within 6 months. The school is designed by 1 + 1 > 2 International Construction Architecture JSC, with environmental friendly materials, shield from cold weather and safe for children’s health. Surrounded by lush green mountains, beautiful rice fields, with its unique and creative design, the school is also expected to become an attraction to this rural area. With an open design, the school can be transformed into a community space for local residents for cultural activities.

In order to support this good cause, the Saigon Times Foundation (STF) and Novaland Group gave 100 STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarships worth VND2 million each to poor students in Vi Xuyen District. To date, the STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarship program has donated nearly 2,200 scholarships worth some VND5.3 billion to students nationwide.
