THE PRIME MINISTER NGUYEN XUAN PHUC ASSOCIATED WITH TYPICAL ENTERPRISES
On July 16, 2020 afternoon, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh – Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA) & Chairman of AA Corporation attended with representatives. Other typical enterprises (DN) of the Private Economic Development Board (Board IV), under the Advisory Council of administrative procedure reform of the Prime Minister and the Organization of YPO , as well as leading representatives of a number of central ministries and sectors at a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at Government Headquarters.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that we soon repelled the COVID-19, control the situation, and there have been no new cases in last 3 months. The most important victory is the beliefs of the people in the country and internationally for Vietnam.
At the present time, we continue to direct humanitarian measures, organize flights for people back home, including workers infected with COVID-19 from Equatorial Guinea. In the anti-epidemic process, we have achieved the dual goal, not to fracture the economy.
The meeting also is the sharing ideas and contributions to develop country in the current world and regional context. The Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of openness, sincerely listening to comments, especially new solutions.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCMC (HAWA) & AA Corporation had presented some general comments on the wood industry during and after the COVID-19. In recent years, along with many proposed solutions to turn challenges into opportunities for sustainable development of the wood industry in the future.
Some other participating business representatives also presented groups of initiatives, solutions and contributions around the Government’s goals and priorities including solutions, attractive business direction, and FDI into Vietnam in the new situation, the restructuring solution for tourism industry and restore international tourism after COVID-19, digital transformation to Vietnam to change its position in the region and the world.
Taking notes from enterprises, the Prime Minister assigned the Government Office and relevant ministries to adapt and synthesize.
The Prime Minister affirmed the spirit of not allowing the second wave of COVID-19 in Vietnam to impact people’s health. At the same time, not to collapse the economy, achieve growth at the highest level possible.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief for Vietnamese businesses to thrive, stand on their feet in an independent and autonomous economy, and develop economic sectors, including FDI attraction.
Regarding the issue of helping domestic enterprises take advantage of international investment flows, effectively participating in the value chain, the Prime Minister affirmed that he would create more favorable conditions for investors and businesses. Private business is one of the important drivers in development. The Prime Minister noted the views on facilitating visa policies for investors and experts entering Vietnam.
Regarding solutions to restructure the tourism industry and restore international tourism after COVID-19, the Prime Minister said he had assigned the relevant ministries and agencies to handle but at this time, it could not be opened immediately for tourists.
Regarding the digital transformation strategic solutions to help Vietnam change its position in the region and the world, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam has a national program on digital transformation and wants businesses must apply the digital transformation at their own enterprise.
