VIETNAMESE WOOD PRODUCTS TO ENTER WORLD CLASS 6 STAR HOTELS

According to Mr Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Chairman of Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), not many people know that the wooden interior for the First Class lounge of one of the world’s most high-end airlines Emirates is made in Vietnam. In addition, the interior and furniture of Park Hyatt St.Kitts and Nevis hotel, the most fabulous 5 star hotel in the Carribean with exceptional amenities, is also from Vietnam. 

Many 6 star hotels around the world such as the Rosewood Phnom Penh, or in the USA market, Japan, Dubai, Singapore… are also starting to welcome Vietnamese furniture products because of high quality, refined details as well as suitable materials. 

In the Vietnamese market, many big hotels such as Geen Center, Park Hyatt Saigon, and other 5 star hotels also use wood furniture manufactured in Vietnam, Mr Khanh mentioned. 

However, the Vietnamese wood industry is only at 30-40% efficiency, we have potentials but lacking investments in machineries, human resources, management, design, commercial and brand building. Therefore, Mr Khanh suggests that we should build a national brand for the wood industry so that the world would know Vietnam as “handicraft and wood industry center of the world”.
