From April to July 2007, the AA Factory in Long An doubled its production output through the implementation of several process improvement projects. Throughout our 9 large production halls, rigorous 5S and visual management systems were introduced with great success. WIP levels have dropped significantly while output has soared and on-time delivery has improved dramatically. Furthermore, quality defects identified by our own in-house quality control team have dropped resulting in greater throughput. In the back-office, planning and purchasing have been greatly strengthened thus ensuring the production halls have all material in timely manner. The management team has now set a goal of a further increase in production output by an additional 50% by end of October 2007. The end result will be a factory with a monthly output that is three times of that which held in early 2007.
